About me

I am best described as a web programmer who spends most of his time in Python. My previous endeavor was with PHP, which lasted several years, however it has recently ended. I pay for my car insurance and web hosting with the funds I make off of Internet advertising.

Most of my projects are small and used by very few people, however a few are in widespread use. My process has been to try most of what comes to my mind and hope for the best, and if something doesn't work out, to leave it available for inspection, but not to continue development.

I also enjoy fresh challenges, which is why I am always reading about and writing programs in Haskell. It's a purely functional language, meaning nothing is a variable, everything is a function which will always give the same output with the same input.

I consider myself to be a novice musician from my experience with playing theatre organs. I've composed several short pieces to add character to many many different songs I perform.

I'm currently considering becoming an air traffic controller much later in life. I took up interest through VATSIM, an online air traffic simulator. I've held interest in the field for a few years, and think it would be a fitting position.

In late 2008 my interest in Disneyland peaked, and I researched becoming a Disneyland Resort Cast Member. Through much planning and even greater support, I flew down to California for a week in December, where I was interviewed and hired to begin in spring. I know I will love the position, the area, and the people, however I fear that I will be leaving many good things behind.

Composition

Early September 2008 I started writing a few short songs as a joke for a few friends. As I kept writing songs it became less and less of a joke. I now spend some of my free time working on a few pieces. Below are my finished pieces in order from earliest to latest.
